"In the world I see....you are stalking elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center. You'll wear leather clothes that will last you the rest of your life. You'll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower. And when you look down, you'll see tiny figures pounding corn, laying strips of venison on the empty car pool lane of some abandoned super-highway." - Chuck Palahniuk

"It is always simply a matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country." - Hitler's propaganda chief Herman Goerring

Turkey day hell

AARRRGGGHHHH!!!!! Ok, I'm writing this again! Fucking internet and it's constant disconnecting! I'm cooking, with the help of beautiful wife, traditional southern thanksgiving food over at pookie's house. That's a long story. We have teased pookie for years that if she doesn't eventullaly clean her oven it will catch on fire. Well........we had 3 fire trucks here and they blared their sirens the whole way over so lotsa old folks comming out to oogle. Joy. Oven isn't ruined and animals seem to be calming down finnaly. The turtles seem to be happy spending the day together at least. Turkey is still cooking, way behind schedule I might add, and I'm ready to be done with the day already. And I thought it wouldn't feel like Thanksgiving! I hope my parents are not screaming at each other for a change and are trying to enjoy the day. Part of me wants to call them so bad just to hear their voice. It's been over 6 months since we've spoken. Did I mention I'm working on my 3rd glass of wine? Normally wouldn't drink yet, but the oven caught on fire people. Turkey, corn bread, corn bread dressing, black eyed peas, carrots, mashed potatoes (reg and sweet), fried okra, and corn on the cob. Doesn't get more southern than that. Thought I'd sprare them the chitlens and collard greens. I dreamed that my parents showed up. I wish things had turned out different.

Thank the plants and animals for their sacrifice on this day and every day. Thank the Lady and Lord for being with us on this day as every day.
