"In the world I see....you are stalking elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center. You'll wear leather clothes that will last you the rest of your life. You'll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower. And when you look down, you'll see tiny figures pounding corn, laying strips of venison on the empty car pool lane of some abandoned super-highway." - Chuck Palahniuk

"It is always simply a matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country." - Hitler's propaganda chief Herman Goerring

Monday, Monday....blah blah blah de blah blah

So, we survived the weekend. I'm so very, very greatful that the hurricane passed us! Those poor people up in the panhandle, tho! We had some small tornados come thru our area early Saturday morning and knocked our power out. Goddess, I LOVE waking up at the ass-crack of dawn sweating! Whoo freaking hoo. However, the power was back on before noon and...no damage to us. Again, very greatful.

It was also nice to have a little break from the suffocating heat! Even at 4am, we can go outside and just instantly break out into a sweat from the heavy, dank, humid, still, blech. It was not nice however, that at least 200 Florida cockroaches decided to use our house to try and shelter from the flooding. OH, Joy. The geckos, lizards, and frogs are always welcome. Yes......we're prejudiced againt los cockroaches. Those little bastards are way too intelligent for my liking.

I tried my hand at dying the kids hair, finnaly. Purple. Bright purple. and it didn't take!!!!!!!!! She took it soooo well. I cussed and pitched a fit. We're gonna give it another try. This time I'm gonna leave it on twice as long and put some heat on it. Hopefully this will work. If it doesn't, I"m going for kool-aid.
