"In the world I see....you are stalking elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center. You'll wear leather clothes that will last you the rest of your life. You'll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower. And when you look down, you'll see tiny figures pounding corn, laying strips of venison on the empty car pool lane of some abandoned super-highway." - Chuck Palahniuk
"It is always simply a matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country." - Hitler's propaganda chief Herman Goerring ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have orange grove According to NPR, Cuba offered 1,100 doctors plus medical supplies last week and our government has yet to even make a response to them. Should anyone be surprised?? It's been made quite clear how important the poor of N.O.'s is to our country. But of course…that's always been pretty clear, hasn't it? I guess Bush is of the same thought as the kid's teacher is. I'm so not amused with her teacher, again. This is school year #2 that the kid's been in this school, which came highly recommended, and this is year #2 that we're not amused with her teacher. We told this woman, again, that the kid is a tester from the word go and the only way it's ever worked to keep her in line at school is if she knows that whatever crap she tries in school will be told to us so we can deal with it. In Kindergarten this worked like a charm, but not at this school. This woman doesn't tell us 1/2 of what's going on until weeks after the fact, she doesn't tell us about the kid not doing work in class until it's gone on for almost a full week, she doesn't tell us about behavioral problems until it's become habit for the kid, and now……… We tell our kid everything that we feel is age appropriate. Which means we tell her 10x's more than most parents. With the hurricane, she knows what's going on. She knows how lucky we are, but how the people in New Orleans especially are completely devastated. We've told her about the shortage of food, water, medicine…everything to survive. We've told her how the government is supposed to help the same here as they do in other countries and even tho we've told her we don't know why…we've told her that the help wasn't coming. So, last Thursday at school she went up to her teacher and asked about the school doing a food drive or a $ drive. I think this is a wonderful and heart-felt idea & school's are always doing that kind of stuff. She tells us that she told the teacher her idea and her teacher looks her straight in the face and tells my child that it's not necessary and that they have all the stuff that they need. !!!!!!!!!????????????!!!!!!!!! WTF??!!10:25 p.m. - Sept. 07, 2005
